Prepayment is required with all orders. Personal checks must clear before the animals can be shipped. Please contact us by phone to be sure the animal(s) you are interested in is still available before sending any money.
We do not accept deposits on animals that have not been produced. This allows you to change your mind and keeps us from having to refund deposits on animals we did not produce. We require deposits of 20% of the invoice total. Payment plans should be completed within 1 to 3 months. Any of the forms of payment mentioned above are welcome.
Live arrival will be guaranteed with FedEx shipments when temperatures are between 40 – 80 degrees F and the package is picked up at the closest FedEx sort facility or shipped directly to the customers home. When shipping via the airlines we guarantee live arrival as long as temperatures are between 40 – 80 degrees F along the entire shipping route. Packages should be picked up within 3 hours of arrival. Live arrival is not guaranteed with “door to door” shipments. Be sure to inspect the animal at the time of pickup. If a problem exists please contact us immediately.
All of our animals are healthy and feeding at the time of shipment and should continue to thrive for you. If you have difficulty with feeding or suspect any health problems, please contact us as soon as possible. We will do everything we can, within reason, to assist you.
Veterinary health certificates are required for most international orders and can be included with domestic purchases at your request but will incur additional charges. Charges will vary depending on the level of testing you request.
We recommend all new acquisitions to any collection be quarantined for a minimum of 30 days. Examinations by your own qualified reptile veterinarian is also advisable.
Once pairings for the upcoming season have been determined they will be posted on the Projects page. At that time, we will begin taking names for a notification list. Being placed on a notification list does not obligate you to a purchase. Once we have decided which specimens will be available an email notification will be sent to all those on the list.
Initial deposits on babies will be refunded in full if we cannot provide you with the animal agreed upon. If you change your mind after a deposit has been made, the deposit will be refunded at 75% within the first 30 days and 50% within the first 60 days. Deposits and payment plans delinquent more than 60 days will be non-refundable. At that time animals may be put back up for sale. We understand that emergencies do arise but please stay in contact with us and we will work with you as best we can. Deposit balances may be transferred to another available animal within one year of the date we receive your original deposit.
Livestock sales are final. Returns are not permitted, and refunds will not be issued on animals which have left our facility. As we have no control over the environment and pathogens the animals may encounter once they leave our care it would jeopardize our collection to expose it to a retuning specimen. Any exceptions will be at our discretion.
International orders are welcome but are subject to a $2,000.00 minimum order.
Prepayment is required prior to shipment. There is no longer a charge for CITES export permits. However, additional costs typically associated with exports include $250.00 USFWS export inspection, $45.00 Health Certificate and shipping and broker costs. Shipping costs will vary depending on the size and weight of the shipment and the carriers used. Freight costs for international shipments are typically $600 + regardless of destination.
Sex determinations will be made to the best of our ability at the time of sale.
Within 24-48 hours of a reptile purchase, we will email or call you with the shipping costs. Here at Snake Country, we use Ship Your Reptiles https://shipyourreptiles.com/ who works directly with FEDEX to handle the pickup of the animal form our facility, the drop off of the animal to the nearest FEDEX Shipping Hub which is located at 2500 Kimberly Ave., Fullerton, CA 92831.
The shipping cost is based on the Package Weight, the Package Dimensions (length x width x height), and the fact that the package ships Priority Overnight. The package will be picked up from our facility at the end of the day before 5pm PT, shipped overnight, and delivered to the recipient by 10:30am the next day. All live animals must be shipped FedEx Priority Overnight, Monday through Thursday only. An overnight Friday shipment won’t arrive until Monday. That is not acceptable and not permitted.
The package will be packed with a new, or like new, cardboard box with an interior of insulating foam. The foam insulation must be tight fitting and at least ¾ inch thick. The box should not bear markings that indicate a dangerous or illegal item. The box must be large enough to contain the deli cup or reptile bag, adequate packing material to protect the animal, the heat or cold pack and the foam insulation. Ship Your Reptiles has gotten three different box variations approved for live shipping. An insulated white box with red lettering, an insulated white box with green lettering and preprinted Lacey Act/IATA labeling, and an insulated plain brown box rated at 275lb burst strength. US Postal boxes, Amazon.com boxes, even FedEx branded boxes are NOT ALLOWED for live shipments. In fact, they are specifically prohibited. It’s not just a visual box size issue, it’s also a thickness and materials issue. These commonly available boxes are too thin to meet the FedEx strength requirements for live shipments. Using these prohibited boxes may get your shipment refused, or stopped during transit, endangering the life of your animal, and endangering the status of our FedEx account. Using a thin cardboard box, or one of the boxes mentioned, nullifies any SYR Live Arrival Insurance coverage.
Temperature note: We do not ship live reptiles when the daytime highs are below 38 degrees Fahrenheit or highs above 100 degrees Fahrenheit.
FedEx does not provide any coverage for live shipments. This means that there is no coverage for DOA shipments and no refunds for late arrivals. The On-time & Live Arrival Insurance is through ShipYourReptiles directly and is only available if you select this option. If you deselect insurance there will be no refunds on live animal shipments under any circumstances. This means NO refunds on late arrival packages, and NO refunds on DOAs.
